It was a tall order, trying to find someone to fill the shoes of Carlie Cossill as she prepares to hang up her headphones and embark on a full-time role back in the OHS workforce. However, WE DID IT!
We are delighted to introduce you to Karl Berendt and Ben Watson who have a wonderful blended skill set enabling them to construct and host a varied and interesting webinar programme.
Based in Taupo, Karl Berendt is a Health and Safety consultant and incident Investigator.
He runs the Incident Prevention Group with staff based here and abroad.
He has been involved in frontline safety for 16 years and has extensive practical experience in variety of industries, both domestically and internationally.
Karl is a certified incident investigation and root course analysis educator and is the Contract Taproot® Instructor for New Zealand and South East Asia. He has lectured and taught in Europe, the United States and New Zealand on the topics of safety, root cause analysis and hazard awareness.
Karl is also an Adult Teacher specialising in Supervision and Mentoring and is a member of the NZISM, ISOH and the NZIOD.
Ben has more than 20 years' of storytelling experience in journalism and communications. He has worked as a reporter, photographer and communications advisor.
He now runs his own business called Benchmedia which specialises in creating animated training and health and safety videos.
Ben is looking forward to hosting the NZISM webinars and learning more from the NZISM's great practitioners.
Thank you for joining the Women in Safety Excellence (WISE) network.
We hold various online and face-to-face events throughout the year and if one occurs near you, we would love to meet you in person.
LinkedIn - Please make sure you join our LinkedIn group to stay connected and on top of our planned webinars and events. We encourage you to post anything in the WISE group page that you think other network members would find useful or inspiring. Please don't be shy. The more we reach out, the more we connect with each other, and the more we can help each other on our journeys.
We might send you the occasional email but our web page on the NZISM website is always the best place to go for an overview of what's coming up in the WISE calendar.
Best wishes,
