About the role

Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, with a dotted line to the Head of Operations, you will be instrumental in embedding the systems and processes but above all, providing the reason why and encouraging a positive and proactive BAU Health and Safety environment.

With the capability and attitude to instil accountabilities and responsibilities within this multiple PCBU environment, you will find that no two days are the same.

You will have a collaborative nature and truly understand how to engage and get the all-important buy in. With a strong emphasis on ensuring all PCBU’s are working together to achieve a successful and sustainable outcome.

Duties

• Lead by example, demonstrate a high level of integrity/capability

• Provide strong leadership and mentorship to ensure team success

• Actively champion a strong health and safety culture, working towards highly effective worker participation and PCBU practices

• Full participation as a member of the assigned business units’ leadership forums and meetings

• Work with all stakeholders to ensure relevant elements of the HS Management Framework are implemented and practiced to a consistently high standard

• Ensure effective on-line HS reporting

• Work with the HS Manager to provide statistical analysis of data

Skills and experience

Our client is keen to meet with candidates who have experience within the aviation industry, however they appreciate that people from other industries will also present with the skillset that is highly desirable.

Candidates must have significant experience working within a complex organisation, with multiple PCBU’s and high-risk environment.

• Tertiary qualified (minimum Diploma)

• Significant experience in a high- risk environment

• Excellent knowledge around critical risk/Bow Ties etc.

• Well-developed skillset as a team contributor

• Experience within a complex multi-PCBU environment

• Sound business writing and verbal communication skillset

• Demonstrated success in influencing without direct authority and achieving a win/win outcome

• Ability to think strategically and cope with business complexity

• Solid understanding of commercial realities and well-developed business acumen

• Sound working knowledge of legal frameworks/Health and Safety legislation

• Track record of success in effecting positive change in HS behaviour
