Hospice West Auckland's journey with Quality, Safety and Health continues with the establishment of a part time Quality, Safety & Health Coordinator, reporting to our experienced Quality Advisor.

What is exciting about this role?

This role combines a strategic mindset to see the road ahead with rolling up your sleeves to get stuck in. You will coordinate and maintain effective Q H & S systems and practices in all areas of Hospice West Auckland business to achieve both external and internal standards and requirements, to best practice, and in line with strategic goals and legal requirements.

You will be working with a group of professionals driven by continuous improvement and where you can advance your learnings by working with an expert Health and Quality Professional.

What does an average day look like?

You will support the organisation by effectively coordinating and maintaining:

Document control for policies and procedures

Oversight of Infection Control either contracted or in house

Supporting the Health & Safety Committee

Regular Internal and External audits based on an agreed Audit Schedule

Contributing to Clinical Governance Group and initiating and monitoring progress of clinical projects

Collecting quality and safety data through surveys, audits, use of corporate databases, and other methods as required

Preparation of data analysis (tables, charts, reporting etc.) for both clinical and non-clinical aspects of Quality, Safety and Health

Tracking all incidents, hazards and risks, complaints and complements

Comprehensive data analysis and reporting

What you will bring to the role.

You may be a nurse who has a passion for Quality and some experience, willing to learn. Or you may have already worked in a similar role and understand the importance of continuous improvement of health and safety systems and processes. Either way you thrive on improving and impacting service developments with your knowledge of the health sector.

You will demonstrate a passion for proactively supporting a culture of quality improvement and assurance; and maintain and coordinate organisational Health & Safety plans.

Your analytical mind set, your strengths with data accuracy and analysis will see you stand out from the crowd.

To be successful in the role you will bring:

2-3 years' experience in a Quality, Health and Safety role in a clinical/health setting

Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies

Ability to interact and engage at all levels of an organisation

High attention to detail, organisational abilities and accuracy of data entry

Critical thinking ability to analyse and comprehend data

Experienced user of Microsoft suite and 365 environments including Excel and Access

Flexibility to work independently as well as part of a team
