Taitara Mahi – Health, Safety & Wellbeing Partner

Permanent Full-Time + On-call Component

Here at Hastings District Council, we believe that the Health, Safety & Wellbeing of our staff is key to organisational success and sustainability. Our Health, Safety & Wellbeing team play a key role in this by promoting safe and healthy work environments and implementing HSW policies and procedures across Council. As this is a senior role within our HSW team, we're looking for someone who can hit the ground running. In exchange for this, you will be rewarded with constant learning opportunities and the chance to work in a close-knit, fun and supportive team.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

- Supporting Council’s Managers with day-to-day management of Health, Safety & Wellbeing risks.

- Engaging with staff and contractors to promote Health, Safety and Wellbeing initiatives.

- Undertaking audits and inspections with staff and contractor activities.

- Delivering hands on training, coaching and guidance.

This is a great opportunity to put your Health, Safety and Wellbeing expertise to use in a varied role with responsibility for a wide range of teams and functions.

Ōu wheako – about you:

To be successful in this role you will have:

- A tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety

- Extensive hands on experience within construction, infrastructure or local government sectors

- Experience with Health, Safety & Wellbeing risk management processes, report writing and data analysis.

- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with a proven record of achievement, drive and initiative.
