• Help your career take off

• Ensuring the safety of a key regional asset

• Assist to plan and deliver the H, S&S strategy

Hawke’s Bay Airport’s vision is to be New Zealand’s most vibrant and successful regional airport. As the gateway to the picturesque Hawke’s Bay, the airport is a key transport and economic enabler for the region. With fresh leadership, a stunning new terminal and clear growth plan, the airport is in a strong position to continue to deliver on strategic objectives. A reinvigorated organisational structure has resulted in several new positions, including a Health, Safety and Security Advisor.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will support the safe and secure running of the airport for staff, customers, contractors and tenants across landside and airside operations, as well as infrastructure development projects such as the solar farm and business park. Initially the focus is on refining and improving existing health, safety and security practices and frameworks, taking already sound systems to the next level. You will also take the lead on the Contract Management System and continue to influence the commitment to health, safety and security within the range of stakeholders connected with the airport. Collaborating with an experienced team, you will have input into future strategy as well as what happens on the ground day to day.

Working in an airport is a dynamic, yet high risk, environment so this role will have a lot of challenges and opportunities. To shine in this position, you will need a solid foundation of health and safety experience from safety sensitive environments and ideally some exposure to high security operations. You will be able to demonstrate broad and in-depth knowledge of legislation and best practices and have a track record of successfully enhancing a positive safety and security culture. Influencing and engaging at all levels, you build collaborative relationships and have a continuous improvement focus.

This role has it all; career development, exceptional team environment and interesting industry; all in the lifestyle location of Hawke’s Bay.
