One of New Zealand’s largest real estate entities, this business provides innovative and sustainable solutions for logistics, warehousing and business parks across the country. They work closely with their clients to decarbonise, decrease environmental impact and develop truly sustainable solutions.

About the role

A newly created role in the business, the Health and Safety Manager will provide technical guidance and support on all aspects of the health, safety and wellbeing portfolio. An opportunity to take true ownership within this space, developing the role as you go.

Well supported in a company that welcomes initiative, you’ll be equally comfortable in a strategy meeting or out on site; working alongside both internal and external stakeholders to ensure a solid understanding of responsibility and best practice.

Duties

• Identify opportunity for development and improvement

• Ensure documents and process are up to date and fit for purpose

• Prepare and present health and safety reports

• Maintain health and safety reporting system

Skills and experience

It is expected that candidates will have been working at a senior level and be adept at conducting investigations, audits and reporting at a senior level as well as maintaining the general day to day aspects of the role.

• Thorough knowledge of the HSWA and its application

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

• Significant experience in a senior health and safety role

• Relevant qualification

• Membership of an industry body such as IOSH, NZISM or NZSC

• Experience in warehousing, logistics or construction is desirable
