About the role

Reporting to HR Manager, you will be responsible for designing and developing people and safety practices to drive culture change, wellbeing initiatives and health and safety within the organisation.

Provide coaching and advice to influence safe behaviours in everyday activities of consumers and employees. Guide managers and teams to adopt best safety practice and leadership.

Based in Petone, this role covers 2 other sites in the Wellington region.

Duties

• Project manage health, wellbeing and safety initiatives

• Provide advice on management of hazards and critical risks

• Drive safety related KPIs across management

• Conduct audits, review investigations and incidents and carry out follow up actions

• Deliver training where required

• Drive the HS Management Plan through the sites

• Contractor management

Skills and experience

We are looking for an engaging and influential team member to bring people on the journey, so amazing communication and people skills are a must, as is a pragmatic approach and the ability to translate legislation into plain English. This is not safety from behind a desk, you’ll be out in the business sharing your knowledge, with an eye on continuous improvement.

• Relevant qualification

• Experience in a similar environment is an advantage

• Experience with organisational development and projects

• Ability to analyse metrics

• Full and clean Class 1 NZ Driver’s Licence
