About the role

Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, these two roles will team up to operate the daily functional and technical support of HSE compliance, risk aspects and program. With systems already in place, you will drive the core processes and safety culture.

These positions require smart, forward-thinking and practical people to take an active role in monitoring and managing health and safety across the site. It is an ideal opportunity to grow your safety career in civil construction; gaining experience on the largest wastewater project ever undertaken in New Zealand.

These roles require commitment – applicants must be able to work a 6 – 6 shift, 5 days per week and rostered Saturday on rotation. You will be employed for the life of the project, due to complete in 2025, with potential for permanent employment for the right applicants.

Duties

• Implement and coordinate safety policies and services at site level

• Provide advice and guidance around safe work and best practices.

• Conduct inspections, audits and investigations

• Contribute to toolbox and safety meetings

• Recommend and implement approved changes to work methods, procedures and risk assessments

• Ensure training requirements are defined, and appropriate training is delivered

Skills and experience

• Experience in the civils / construction sector or similar

• Working knowledge of the NZ legislation

• Evidence of infrastructure projects would be an advantage

• High level engagement/communication skills

• Full class 1 drivers’ licence
