Salary band: $70,000 to $80,000 p.a pro rata + Kiwisaver
Full-time (1.0 FTE), permanent position
Based in Dunedin or Invercargill with regular district-wide travel
Support the improvement of health and safety for our employees across the whole Southern district
Mō te tūranga - About the role
You will be joining a motivated team of professionals to assist in the implementation of the health, safety and welfare management system, documentation and risk management across Te Whatu Ora - Southern which includes Otago, Southland and Central Otago/Lakes.
The Health and Safety Advisor plays an active part in assisting with the delivery and proactive support of health and safety activities throughout Te Whatu Ora - Southern including (but not limited to):
assisting in health and safety management, documentation, and risk management
encouraging workplace participation and providing support for the organisations health and safety activities
assisting in health and safety reporting
recording and investigating health and safety accidents, incidents, and injuries.

Our ideal candidate will bring:
prior experience in a relevant role
an understanding of New Zealand statutory requirements
knowledge of health and safety legislation and the ability to research topics in areas where knowledge is limited
excellent communication skills and a personable nature
great organisational skills and attention to detail with the ability to successfully manage and prioritise your own workload.
