The role:

You will assist the Executive Leadership team in the development and implementation of the HSW strategy and framework - developing and maintaining standards along with compliance programs nationwide – providing advice and working in a collaborative manner to ensure best practice.

Regular monitoring will ensure all legislative obligations are being met in a timely manner – to the agreed standards - reporting such to the Board and providing positive assurance and advice.

With flexibility to be based anywhere in NZ, this is a rare and exciting opportunity. Reporting to the General Manager of People and Strategy, you will deliver a level of BAU assurance and governance, offering an innovative, highly collaborative and focused approach. Partnering with operations you will provide specialist advice and guidance, assisting in the development of best practice. There will be a significant focus on engagement with senior leaders across the organisation.

Suitable candidates will be tertiary level qualified and comfortable operating within a large-scale, complex organisation. Significant experience in a senior role is anticipated, along with the ability to work in an autonomous, self-motivated and outcome focussed manner.

Experience will include:

• Prior Health, Safety and Wellbeing experience working at a similar level, in a complex environment is required

• Relevant tertiary level qualification

• Experience with developing, implementing and managing a safety management framework

• Proven capability in leading culture change within the Health, Safety and Wellbeing portfolios

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Strong ability to coach and mentor, with a collaborative approach

• Flexible location (Taranaki, Auckland or Wellington preferred)
