About the role

You will lead the provision of a best-in-class and contemporary Health and Safety support services to the Chief Operating Officer’s (COO) business group.

This role will be instrumental in driving change, and consistently reinforcing a ‘line-led health, safety and wellbeing’ mind-set.

Working constructively to enable strategic and transformational change – you will work proactively with the COO business groups and leaders, to add to their desire, ability and efforts to continuously improve the HSW performance, while clearly connecting with the Global Health, Safety and Wellbeing Strategy.

Duties will include:

Provide significant Safety Leadership to continuously enhance, drive and enable a willingness to prioritise health, safety and wellbeing across all COO teams and sites, even in the face of production and financial pressures.

Working with the COO Leadership Team, you will utilise your significant experience in Strategic Planning and Deployment, while designing evidence-based strategies to address HSW issues - ensuring site leaders and teams are actively supported, while connecting back to the overarching HSW plan.

Support, oversee and manage several large and geographically dispersed teams of HSW professionals, who provide operational support, in regard to proactive risk-based activities - enabling leaders and their teams to anticipate future operational scenarios and the implications these may have on HSW outcomes.

Skills and Experience include:

We anticipate you will have significant experience at a highly senior level, with a deep understanding of contemporary Health, Safety and Wellbeing concepts and systems (Resilience Engineering, Safety II, Safety Differently, Human and Organisational Performance), supported by relevant formal qualifications.

You will be in a position to easily provide excellent examples from your experience in successfully influencing executive level buy-in, mindset and ownership for HSW, while working within an organisation of significant size - with multiple high risk and complex manufacturing sites and locations.

We are looking for an inspirational people leader, viewed by others as a change agent who has the presence and gravitas required to lead strategic transformation.

Your experience in shaping and delivering programmes across multiple business groups, utilising innovation, collaboration and highly developed communication skills, will enable you to bring further examples which support your success and ability to convey complex concepts and influence decisionmakers, including at Board level.
