This position is responsible for driving FSC and PEFC-certification across the business, developing environmental management systems and capability for the group

The company and role

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a high-risk industry, driving FSC and PEFCR-certification across multiple business units. Collaborating with a range of stakeholders and business leaders, you will lead the development and implementation of environmental management systems for the group. Functioning as the subject matter expert for certification and quality issues, you will be visible throughout the business, developing robust professional relationship. This newly created role sits within the Corporate Group Governance team and reports to the Group Manager for Environment and External Relations.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact on a large-scale international organisation. Suitable candidates will be degree qualified within a relevant field with a minimum of 5 years professional experience. Significant experience within EMS implementation and/or maintenance is essential. A background within multi industrial or manufacturing industries would be a distinct advantage.

Duties include:

· Develop and deliver quality management systems across multiple business units and operational sites

· Maintain existing systems

· Drive the ongoing development and improvement of environmental reporting systems

· Drive FSC and PEFC accreditation, managing standards post implementation

· Work in close collaboration with the Sustainability Manager on data management and sustainability reporting

· Work proactively with the Unions, TPA’s and other key stakeholders to promote positive outcomes

· Build strong relationships throughout the business, working closely with stakeholders and operational managers

Skills and experience include:

· Tertiary qualifications in environmental management, chemical engineering or related fields

· 5 years relevant industry experience, preferably at a managerial level

· Fully conversant with EMS including ISO14001

· Experience within a multi-site industrial or manufacturing environment

· Demonstrated experience within systems development and ongoing improvement

· Outcome focused

· Engaging and inspirational, motivating approach

· Excellent communication – able to engage at all levels

· Ability to gain the confidence and trust of others

· Strong project management abilities

· Commercially focused with excellent technical and analytical skills
