The role

You will lead the environmental, health and safety portfolio by delivering the EHS management system throughout the NZ sites as well as one in Australia.

Ensuring the organisation exceeds compliance requirements, through proactive management - you will be a subject matter expert with a strong and proven ability to deliver continuous improvement and best practice initiatives.

You will enjoy promoting excellence, engaging with all stakeholders throughout the organisation and encouraging a strong and proactive safety culture as well as a sustainable environmental performance.

Duties include:

* Hands-on implementation and maintenance of the EHS system

* Timely reporting at site level through to senior leadership

* Provide expert advice in relation to risk management; mitigation and reduction

* Drive corrective actions to completion

* Undertake, monitor and review audits

* Implement and maintain emergency preparedness processes

* Coach, educate, mentor and lead all stakeholders through to a successful outcome of ownership and accountability

* Injury Management including return to work programs

* Contractor Management

Skills and experience required:

* Proven success in an EHS senior role within a global/complex organisation

* Excellent knowledge of legislation

* Great interpersonal and communication skillset (written and verbal)

* Flexibility, reliability, detail focussed, and outcome orientated

* Energetic and personable

* Relevant Tertiary qualification (i.e. OHS Diploma)

* Strong team player but also able to work autonomously

* Great analytical skillset

* Personal commitment to best practice and innovation

* Forward thinking with amazing coaching, educating and motivating skills

* Ability to travel as required
