About the role

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this is a critical and visible role providing strategic leadership and team management and contributing as a key member of the senior leadership team on all matters relating to Health and Safety, Quality Management and Environmental Management.

You will lead HSQE operations in a manner that supports the strategic intent of the business and key stakeholders, ensuring compliance with legislation, business policies and procedures, and ensuring emergency / crisis preparedness.

Duties include:

• Develop and continuously improve integrated management systems across all aspects of HSQE.

• Determine, advise on, manage and maintain appropriate HSQE certifications, accreditations and prequalification.

• Ensure compliance across all applicable legislation; assess and manage risk across all areas of HSQE.

• Provide thought leadership in the safety and quality culture at PDP.

• Develop and implement crisis management framework from an HSQE perspective.

• Lead, guide and motivate the HSQE team for high performance.

• Work collaboratively with other senior leaders as part of our “one team” culture.

• Have influence over the direction of the business and have the potential for shareholding.

Skills and experience

• Degree qualified is essential, with a relevant qualification in occupational health and safety from a recognised tertiary education provider.

• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in a QHSE leadership role.

• Strong working knowledge in HSQE management systems such as ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.

• Prior experience in a professional consultancy will be considered an advantage.

• Proven leadership skills; with a collegiate, team-player attitude.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
