In Construction
In Contractor Management
In Confusion
Jon Harper-Slade, GM Health & Safety Innovation, CHASANZ will introduce the Tōtika scheme and describe the future of contractor management in NZ. CHASANZ is an accredited charitable trust that has been developed to deliver a unified voice and to raise the standard of health and safety across the whole of the construction industry.
The Supplier Pre-Qualification Tōtika scheme
There are currently no common pre-qualification standards resulting in a proliferation of pre-qualification schemes. This creates significant inefficiency in the supply chain as suppliers have to repeatedly pre-qualify against different schemes and standards, which causes a continual drain, and wasted time and money for both suppliers and buyers. There is a strong desire within the industry for a common pre-qualification standard and streamlined pre-qualification process.
The Vision for the Tōtika Supplier Pre-qualification (Tōtika) Scheme is that it will actively contribute towards raising Health & Safety performance and standards across the industry.
Previously GM, Construction Safety Council, Jon is now GM Health & Safety Innovation for CHASANZ and also leads ConstructSafe, the Health and Safety competency assessment scheme for construction.
