“ Why does everyone throw their eyes to the sky when the HSE advisor turns up to site, and why are we always labelled the Fun Police?”
The Emerging Safety Leaders network (Bay of Plenty) is delighted to have Derek Toner join us at our next network meeting. Derek is an experienced and highly engaging speaker/trainer and this is an evening you won't regret putting in your calendar. So come and join us as we take a closer look at the fairness of our Fun Police label, and learn about Derek's approach to mentoring and coaching in the health and safety field.
With some positive self-reflection and also some guidance from Derek, we will be well on our way to reaching that elusive 'light at the end of the tunnel'.
P.S Pizza and chips are on us.
Speaker Bio:
Derek is a Lead Technical Trainer at Downer where he delivers training in critical management, leadership and communication/presentation skills. He has worked in Ireland, Australia and New Zealand in roles spanning everything from machine operation to project and operational management.

Thank you for joining the Women in Safety Excellence (WISE) network.
We hold various online and face-to-face events throughout the year and if one occurs near you, we would love to meet you in person.
LinkedIn - Please make sure you join our LinkedIn group to stay connected and on top of our planned webinars and events. We encourage you to post anything in the WISE group page that you think other network members would find useful or inspiring. Please don't be shy. The more we reach out, the more we connect with each other, and the more we can help each other on our journeys.
We might send you the occasional email but our web page on the NZISM website is always the best place to go for an overview of what's coming up in the WISE calendar.
Best wishes,
