Asbestos related diseases remain the largest single occupational cause of premature death with around 250-300 per year. Despite changes to the Regulations in 2016 the management of asbestos including in situ and remediation/removal is not working particularly well and the largely vulnerable workers in the industry are often facing unknown and poorly controlled risks to their health.

The New Zealand Demolition and Asbestos Association (NZDAA) commissioned Mike Cosman to undertake a comprehensive study of the state of the industry in order to highlight key gaps and opportunities for improvement. In this webinar Mike will explain some of the findings and provide some thoughts as to what our profession can do to help drive change.
