Join the Southand Branch for their annual AGM.
The purpose of the AGM is to hear a review of the branch activities for the previous year, vote in branch manager/committee members and to discuss any matters of interest to the branch.
We will be joined by the CEO of NZISM, Jeff Sissons. Jeff has worked as a lawyer in private practice, health and safety advisor and union official. Jeff saw health and safety reforms up close as General Counsel at the CTU during the formation of WorkSafe and the passage of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and subsequently working as Ministerial Advisor to the Minister of Workplace Relations and Safety from 2017-2020.
Jeff will be reflecting on where New Zealand stands eight years after the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 came into effect. He’ll share his reasons for the ‘drift’ he feels has spread across the system and how we might collectively pull things around and influence the new coalition Government as they prepare to deliver on their commitment to reform New Zealand’s health and safety system.
