It's more than just knowing some stuff about a few cultural norms.
Firstly, it's built-on peer reviewed research. It fills the gap left by EQ, it’s a learned capability, and it's more than just being about ethnicity. It focuses on motivation, knowledge, strategy and action. Not unlike leadership, this is about personal development, it’s about understanding yourself so you can be more effective in multi-cultural situations.
If you're keen to develop your skills in this area, join us for the new NZISM Cultural Intelligence for Safety Professionals Forum.
Join Certified CQ Facilitator, Greg Dearsly for the second of 6 planned events for 2024, come ready to talk about your experiences of culture, listen to others as they talk about aspects of culture that make up their Figured World, contribute to industry knowledge and develop your own capability.
Important: This session is designed to be interactive. The format will be a presentation, followed by a series of survey questions and then break out groups. (The session will NOT be recorded.) For some useful pre-session reading, take a look at this article by David Livermore (author of Leadership using CQ), which provides a good overview of Cultural Intelligence.

Thank you for joining the Women in Safety Excellence (WISE) network.
We hold various online and face-to-face events throughout the year and if one occurs near you, we would love to meet you in person.
LinkedIn - Please make sure you join our LinkedIn group to stay connected and on top of our planned webinars and events. We encourage you to post anything in the WISE group page that you think other network members would find useful or inspiring. Please don't be shy. The more we reach out, the more we connect with each other, and the more we can help each other on our journeys.
We might send you the occasional email but our web page on the NZISM website is always the best place to go for an overview of what's coming up in the WISE calendar.
Best wishes,
