NZISM staff and key volunteers have been working for almost a year to bring this to you, so today is a major milestone. I’m extremely proud of the team and what they have achieved.

Our new mobile app
We encourage you to download the brand-new NZISM mobile application. (iOS and Android). The app gives you all of NZISM’s services in your pocket and at your fingertips.
Our homepage and AI-assistant
If you go to our new home page you’ll notice some changes. The first is the beautiful pictures of our real members replacing the previous stock photos.
The second is a button at the bottom left that says “Need help finding anything?” This is our new AI-assistant and it’s getting smarter all the time. Ask it a question about how to do something on the new site. If you like the answer, hit the thumbs up button and if you don’t hit the thumbs down button (this helps to train it).
Event reminders and mailing list subscriptions
Never miss an event again. Once registered, you will receive an automatic event reminder a few days before the event. For urgent messages (eg change of venue) we aim to roll out text messaging and app notification functionality.
You can now also manage your mailing list subscriptions by updating your email preferences under My Settings on your dashboard.
Member search
We’ve significantly improved our Member Search function. This allows you to find other members - and the public to find NZISM members!
Use the keyword search to find members: This will pick up names, general location, and text in the user’s bio. You can filter by accreditation level and use the map to look for members near you. Try it out.
We respect your privacy so you need to opt in to the search function if you want to be findable. You can do this at My Settings. To add information about yourself (such as experience, interests and qualifications) edit your profile in My Settings/About Me from your dashboard.
Member resources and CPD
Once you are logged in, Member Resources can be accessed from both the website main navigation and from your dashboard. Your myCPD plans and supporting attachments are also waiting for you in the new system.
Anniversary date and payments
The new system has allowed us to move to true anniversary date membership as opposed to pushing everyone into the same renewal year ending 31 March. For those who joined part way through this year, we’ve automatically extended your membership through to your anniversary date.
We’ve also added new ways to pay for membership more easily such as direct debit and quarterly payments. These changes are intended to make it easier and more straightforward to join and renew.

If you need more support, head to our new Service Desk (you can also find that on your dashboard) and log a ticket. This is our preferred way to receive requests from you because it allows both you and us to track progress and ensure timely responses.
Help us improve the system
We’re proud of all the work that’s gone into getting the new system up to speed. But it’s not perfect. So we have a competition for you. Between now and the end of January, submit any bugs or errors that you find in the system using our Service Desk.
At the end of January we will draw 10 lucky winners who will each receive the extremely limited edition NZISM road cone stress ball. Get hunting and be in to win!
