Wedo not agree withWorkSafe’s proposalto downgradethe guidancefrom an ACOP to GPG for this important topic. The burden of harm from asbestos remains extremely high anddowngrading thestatus of this guidance will not help. This alsoappears to run counterto theGovernment’s proposals to make greater use ofACOPs. It would be helpful if WorkSafecouldidentifytechnical changes there are between the current ACOP and the draft BPG.Given the short consultation period it is a lot of work to read and compare two very lengthy documents.
