Pg1|3 Geoff Brokenshire I have a background in industrial chemistry and hazardous substance storage and handling procedures / compliance with 50 years of work experience to call on. I have operated as an employee and as a self- employed consultant, so I understand the stresses associated with both roles. As a health and safety consultant I provide specialist assistance in hazardous substances, machinery risk assessments, incident investigations, systems assessments and many other general health and safety topics. Many years as an industrial / analytical chemist and a health and safety professional has taught me that these roles can be lonely ones and that many in those roles need some support, a listening ear, a sounding board to bounce ideas off – I can be that person that meets that need. Pia Carpenter I received training as a Youthline counsellor early in my career and have undertaken various CPD in mental health first aid and support. I have lived experience of mental health challenges and understand sometimes just a safe space to be ‘real’ is what people need. Working in the H&S professional for more than 18 years has taken me down many paths with both positive and some very challenging outcomes and am acutely aware of the challenges this profession can present. But I am also aware that in those challenging times reaching out and talking to someone who understands can be greatly helpful and put you back on track. Therefore I am available as a sounding board or understanding ear to our network of colleagues. Hannes de Bruin I have a graduate diploma in Industrial/Organisational Psychology, a Post Graduate Diploma in HR Management with 30+ years’ experience in Health, Wellbeing and Safety plus team development so can assist with providing solutions for intra-team conflict management. I am an ISO Lead Auditor with significant experience in investigating serious incidents and fatalities, an ACC advocate and currently pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Workplace Health, Wellbeing and Safety.
