About the role

Seeking an experienced Safety Business Partner/Advisor to support a large infrastructure and project delivery environment through a period of safety transformation and continuous improvement.

This role will work closely with operational leaders and contractor partners, providing advice, coaching and practical solutions to improve safety performance across diverse and complex infrastructure projects.

As a trusted advisor, you will:

  • Provide practical, risk-based safety advice to operational teams and project stakeholders
  • Partner with senior leaders to influence and improve safety outcomes
  • Support contractor partners to ensure safe work practices across infrastructure activities
  • Identify, assess and mitigate safety risks using a human-centred, continuous improvement approach
  • Deliver meaningful reporting and insights on safety performance, trends and opportunities
  • Support the implementation of safety initiatives, programmes and systems
  • Ensure safety incidents are effectively managed and investigated
  • Promote a strong safety culture and support teams to develop and implement safety plans

Skills and experience

You will be a highly capable safety professional with strong influencing skills and experience operating in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

You will bring:

  • Relevant tertiary level safety qualifications
  • Experience in a safety advisory or business partnering role
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive safety outcomes
  • Strong knowledge of legislation and best practice frameworks (i.e. ISO 45001)
  • Demonstrated ability to support and implement safety transformation or change programs
  • Excellent communication, coaching and relationship building skills
