We are seeking an experienced and motivated HSQE Coordinator/Advisor, who has expertise in Quality as well as Safety - to support and strengthen health, safety, wellbeing, quality and environmental practices within this engineering and manufacturing environment.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of hands-on coordination, administration and stakeholder engagement - and who is passionate about maintaining strong systems aligned to ISO standards. You will work closely with operational leaders and safety specialists to ensure compliance, continuous improvement and a positive safety culture.

About the role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the HSQE Coordinator/Advisor plays a key role in supporting ISO-certified management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001) and promoting safe, high-quality and environmentally responsible operations.

This role will also support the ongoing implementation and embedding of a new integrated HSQE framework, requiring someone who is adaptable, resilient and confident supporting change across the business.

In addition to HSQE responsibilities, this role provides general operational and administrative support where required and may involve occasional domestic or international travel.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate health, safety, wellbeing, quality and environmental initiatives aligned with ISO standards
  • Support the implementation, rollout and continuous improvement of an integrated management system and new HSQE framework
  • Coordinate audits, inspections, corrective actions and compliance activities
  • Prepare monthly HSQE reports and maintain performance dashboards
  • Manage training records, inductions and safety communications
  • Coordinate and document incident investigations and return-to-work processes
  • Support Health & Safety Committee activities and emergency preparedness
  • Assist with quality assurance and environmental initiatives aligned to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
  • Support internal and external audits, gap assessments and management reviews
  • Maintain documentation, registers and compliance records with a strong focus on accuracy and quality
  • Provide general operational support as required

About you

You are organised, proactive, resilient and detail-focused, with the confidence to work across safety, quality and environmental systems in a changing operational environment. You are comfortable supporting leaders and teams through change, maintaining strong standards and helping embed new ways of working.

You take pride in high-quality documentation, reporting, and compliance outcomes, while also understanding the importance of practical, people-focused solutions. You bring a continuous improvement mindset and can build positive working relationships across the business.

  • Experience working with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems
  • Qualification in Workplace Health & Safety (NEBOSH IGC or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated experience supporting change management or system implementation initiatives
  • Experience working with Quality Management Systems and quality assurance processes
  • Strong knowledge of NZ Health & Safety legislation and regulations
  • Engineering or manufacturing experience
  • Strong reporting, documentation and administrative skills with high attention to detail
  • Competence with Microsoft Word, Excel and general systems
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, 5S, RCA)
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organisational and time management capability
  • Resilient, adaptable and able to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment
