Our client has a strong reputation, great people and a genuine commitment to doing the right thing. With five sites across Auckland and 160 employees, we're looking for an experienced HSE professional who can help take their health and safety performance from good to great.

About the role

As the sole Health and Safety professional, you'll play a key role in shaping and driving HSE performance across five sites, with the autonomy and support to make a visible impact across the business. Reporting to the COO and working closely with the leadership team, you'll drive a proactive safety culture, strengthen leadership accountability, improve reporting and insights and help embed best-practice HSE systems across the group.

Duties

  • Partner with leaders to embed safe work practices across the business
  • Drive the use of SafetyCulture and digital tools to improve reporting and engagement
  • Use data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities
  • Support environmental compliance and Toitū initiatives
  • Coordinate facilities maintenance, contractors and site projects

Skills and experience

The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role within an operational environment. You'll be comfortable working across all levels of a business, using data, systems and practical insight to improve safety outcomes. Equally important is your ability to build strong relationships, influence positive change and help leaders take ownership of health and safety within their teams.

  • Relevant tertiary HSE qualification
  • Experience in a similar dedicated HSE role
  • Strong risk management and incident investigation capability
  • Experience with HSE systems and reportingtools
  • Confident engaging with frontline teams and senior leaders alike
