  • Lead HSE Initiatives with impact across multiple national sites
  • Enjoy the lifestyle and affordability of Ashburton living
  • Join a successful organisation committed to continuous improvement

Work Visa required: All applicants will be required to provide proof of their eligibility to work in New Zealand.

Some HSE roles focus on compliance.

This one is about influence.

We're partnering with a successful manufacturing organisation to find an experienced HSE Business Partner who can help drive meaningful change across South Island operations while contributing to projects and initiatives with national impact.

Based in Ashburton, you'll join a well-established business with strong leadership, a collaborative HSE team and a genuine commitment to continuous improvement.

This is an opportunity for an experienced HSE professional who can move comfortably between the factory floor, the leadership team and the boardroom. You'll be coaching leaders, facilitating workshops, driving behavioural change and helping simplify complex operational risks into practical actions that people can understand and apply.

What you'll be doing

  • Partnering with operational and site leaders to strengthen HSE performance
  • Leading HSE projects and initiatives across multiple sites
  • Delivering workshops, training and leadership development programmes
  • Coaching leaders on their HSE responsibilities and accountabilities
  • Driving behavioural safety and change management initiatives
  • Supporting risk management, audits, investigations and compliance activities
  • Reviewing performance data and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Building consistency of HSE systems and practices across the organization
  • Travelling regularly between Ashburton and Christchurch sites, with wider national project involvement as required

What we're looking for

We're interested in experienced HSE professionals who have demonstrated the ability to influence outcomes, not just manage processes.

  • A relevant Health & Safety qualification (Diploma level or above preferred)
  • Significant HSE experience within manufacturing, engineering or a complex operational environment
  • Proven change management experience
  • Strong leadership coaching, mentoring and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience facilitating workshops and developing leadership capability
  • A track record of influencing behavioural and cultural change
  • Strong auditing, investigation and risk management capability
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to simplify complex concepts
  • A hands-on, pragmatic approach to partnering with operational teams

An engineering, electrical or other technical background would be highly regarded, particularly where you've worked within complex manufacturing or industrial environments.

We're particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate depth of experience, career stability and a genuine commitment to building long-term relationships and delivering sustainable outcomes.

What’s in it for you?

You'll be joining a capable and supportive HSE team where your strengths in leadership development, operational influence and change management will be highly valued.

The business operates across multiple sites, giving you the opportunity to contribute to projects with national visibility and impact while remaining based in the South Island.

Located in Ashburton, this role offers an excellent lifestyle opportunity with easy access to Christchurch, the mountains and the coast, while working within a stable and successful organisation.
