Good businesses don't stand still.

The best ones keep learning, keep investing and keep looking for ways to improve.

That's exactly where our client is today.

They've built strong foundations, developed a clear Health and Safety roadmap and created genuine momentum. With the business continuing to grow, they're now looking for an experienced HSE&W Manager to help guide the next stage of that journey.

Working alongside an engaged leadership team, you'll coach and influence leaders, mentor an established HSE&W Coordinator and build strong relationships across the business by being a visible presence on the factory floor. This is a role for someone who enjoys simplifying the complex, turning good ideas into practical outcomes and helping others succeed.

If you enjoy seeing the impact of your work every day, you'll feel right at home here.

About the business

Our client is a growing New Zealand manufacturer producing premium pet nutrition for customers around the world. Operating to exacting international food manufacturing standards, they've built a reputation for quality, innovation and continuous improvement.

With production continuing to expand and the business investing in its future, you will be joining at an exciting time. Safety is already valued here, and you'll have the support of an engaged leadership team to continue building capability across the organisation.

Where you'll make an impact

  • Lead the delivery of the organisation's Health and Safety roadmap.
  • Coach and support leaders to strengthen capability and accountability.
  • Continue developing practical HSE&W systems that grow with the business.
  • Mentor an established HSE&W Coordinator and support their professional development.
  • Lead critical risk management, investigations, audits and continuous improvement.
  • Build strong relationships across the business and keep safety practical, relevant and engaging.

What we're looking for

You'll bring a recognised tertiary qualification in Health and Safety or a related discipline, along with practical experience gained in manufacturing, food production or another high-risk operational environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of New Zealand health and safety legislation and its practical application.
  • Experience developing or improving HSE&W management systems.
  • The ability to coach, mentor and influence leaders across the business.
  • A practical, approachable style that earns trust across all levels of the organisation.
  • A genuine enjoyment of spending time with operational teams rather than sitting behind a desk.

Why consider this opportunity?

The foundations are in place, the leadership team is engaged and the business has clear ambitions for the future.

This is an opportunity to join a growing organisation where your experience will be valued, your ideas welcomed and your influence felt as the business continues to evolve. You'll have the chance to shape systems, build capability and work alongside people who genuinely want to keep improving.
