About the role
Not your typical full-time site role. And that’s exactly the point.
edenfxHSE is proudly supporting a major renewable energy project in the Bay of Plenty – the Tihori Solar Farm, a large-scale development that will help power around 30,000 NZ homes and support the country’s transition to low-carbon energy.
This is a client-side H&S role, working alongside an experienced project team, providing oversight across construction and commissioning – without being pulled into contractor delivery.
- Fixed term project role (April 2026 – Dec 2027)
- Flexible commitment – 3 days per week on average, scaling up to 4–5 days/week during peak construction
- Based in Edgecumbe, Bay of Plenty
- Ideal for someone experienced in operating at a client/principal level with the ability to audit, challenge and influence without stepping into delivery
Key responsibilities
- Provide health and safety oversight across construction and commissioning
- Review contractor plans, risk assessments and systems
- Carry out site inspections, audits and investigations
- Support reporting, compliance and continuous improvement
- Engage with contractors, stakeholders and regulators
About you
We’re looking for strong experience in construction or infrastructure health and safety. You must be comfortable working in a client-side/oversight capacity — practical, credible and able to build trust on site, with a solid understanding of NZ legislation and site‑based risk.
You will have:
- Relevant qualifications in workplace health and safety
- Current first aid certificate
- Full NZ driver’s licence
- Proven experience in investigations and auditing
- Renewable energy or electrical infrastructure experience (advantage)
