The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our client’s business on a fixed term contract, supporting the delivery of strong, practical health and safety outcomes, across diverse operational and at times high risk environments

About the role

Reporting to the CEO and working in partnership with the Group Health and Safety Manager, this role will provide hands on advisory support across the business. You will contribute to both strategic and operational safety activities, with a strong focus on critical risk management, compliance and incident prevention.

Key areas of responsibility

  • Support the rollout and ongoing effectiveness of the critical risk program
  • Assist with identifying risk/hazards, conducting risk assessments and implementing controls
  • Support the development and execution of health and safety strategies and frameworks
  • Assist with safety performance monitoring, data analysis and reporting
  • Lead or support incident and near-miss investigations and corrective actions
  • Provide practical health and safety advise to leadership, employees and HSR’s
  • Support compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and standards
  • Promote a proactive and visible safety culture across the business

Skills and experience

You are a confident and pragmatic safety professional who enjoys working closely with leaders and operational teams. You bring a solutions-focused mindset, strong communication skills and the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on support.

You are comfortable operating in engineering, manufacturing or construction-style environments and can influence safety outcomes through collaboration and credibility.

You will bring

  • Previous experience in a health and safety advisory role
  • Demonstrated success in implementing or supporting critical risk programmes
  • Strong understanding of risk management and compliance requirements
  • Experience in engineering, manufacturing or construction environments
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong computer literacy and reporting capability
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
