The Opportunity

This is a Group Health & Safety Managers role with responsibility for leading and embedding health and safety strategy across multiple operations, including manufacturing and engineering sites.

Reporting to the CEO, you will provide visible leadership, expert advice and strategic direction while partnering closely with executives, site leaders and safety professionals to build a strong, consistent safety culture across the group.

About the Role

You will own the execution of group-wide health and safety strategies, policies and systems. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on governance, audit oversight and performance reporting at Executive and Board level.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring legislative compliance, driving continuous improvement and championing a strong, people-focused safety culture across all locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement group-wide health and safety strategy and initiatives
  • Provide high-level health and safety advice to the Executive team and Board
  • Oversee site safety performance, progress and compliance status
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures and communication frameworks
  • Coordinate health and safety representatives and safety personnel across sites
  • Lead internal and remote audits and support external audit readiness
  • Drive progress toward ISO 45001 certification across all sites
  • Oversee incident investigations and provide expert guidance on corrective actions
  • Develop safety KPIs, reporting and performance insights for senior stakeholders
  • Manage contractor and client induction systems and compliance platforms
  • Stay abreast of legislative changes and industry best practice

About You

You are a confident and credible safety leader with the ability to influence at Executive and Board level. You balance strategic thinking with practical execution and are comfortable operating across multiple sites, stakeholders and jurisdictions.

You bring strong governance capability, clear communication skills, energy and a collaborative leadership style that builds trust and accountability.

What You Will Bring

  • Successful experience in senior health and safety leadership roles
  • Experience operating across multiple manufacturing or engineering sites
  • Strong background in health and safety strategy, systems and governance
  • Proven ability to lead audits, reporting and compliance programmes
  • Experience working with Executive leadership and Boards
  • Strong computer literacy and reporting capability
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in health and safety (degree or diploma)
