About the role

This senior leadership role provides strategic and operational oversight of health and safety across the group. You will work closely with the executive team, governance forums and site leaders to strengthen critical risk management, embed consistent systems and lift capability. Success comes from visibility on site, pragmatic decision making and leading cultural change through influence rather than mandate. The role balances strategy, assurance and hands on leadership.

Duties

You will lead and support a small, experienced health and safety team, setting clear direction while empowering them to deliver at site and group level. The role focuses on building capability, consistency and confidence through coaching, mentoring and practical guidance. You will create strong alignment across site‑based advisors, ensuring priorities are clear and support is timely.

• Lead and evolve the group health and safety management system
• Partner with executives and site leaders on critical risk control
• Drive cultural change through coaching, influence and visibility

Skills and experience

This role suits a senior health and safety leader with strong experience operating in complex, high risk environments. You will bring a solid understanding of risk management systems, critical controls and regulatory requirements, with the credibility to influence at executive and site level. You will have the ability to build trusted relationships, coach leaders and embed practical improvements on the ground. A pragmatic, commercially aware approach and confidence leading change through influence are essential.

• Relevant tertiary qualification in health and safety
• Proven delivery of group wide health and safety systems
• Strong executive level influencing and relationship capability
• Experience in complex, operational risk environments
