Member Search

Member Search allows you to find other members - and the public to find NZISM members

You can search for NZISM members who have made their profile publicly available in various ways. You can scroll around the map to find NZISM members in a particular region or click on the crosshairs to find members near you.

Searching by keyword will also allow you to find text in the member’s bio and any keywords they have added.

If you switch to tile view (by turning off list view) you can also see member photos if they have uploaded any.

You can use the role tab to limit the search to members at a particular accreditation level.

We recommend adding a profile picture (at https://nzism.org/usersettings and edit profile picture). Then scroll down to the ‘About me button’ and click on this. That will allow you to add a short bio (including links to your LinkedIn Profile if you wish), qualifications and key words.

Your photo and profile will help the public and other members to find and connect with you (if you have enabled this setting).

No.

You can only see members who have agreed to make their profile publicly available in the member search.

You can search by postcode by entering the number into the Keyword Search box

Not in the format we had it previously. You can search for accredited members in the Member Search but they will need to have a public profile to be visible.

Use the keyword search to look for people who have identified that skill, experience or qualification in their bio.

No, Member search is limited to NZISM members and staff.

NZISM members can opt in and out of the member search at any time by going to https://nzism.org/usersettings(also accessible by pressing the My Settings button on the dashboard when logged in).

The settings to become publicly visible are directly below the edit profile picture button. You can change your visibility and also your preferred contact to display in your listing. We recommend using system as the preferred contact.

Users who aren’t NZISM members (e.g. WISE or ESL subscription only) aren’t visible in member search.

No. You can only have one user profile

At the moment, you can only choose to be visible to both the public and other NZISM members. If there is a strong desire from members to split these permissions, then we will consider adding this functionality.

So long as you have a registered email, the system will email you the contact. If you need to find the email sent in the system, go to https://nzism.org/usersettings and select My Notifications then look for notifications from Contact Us. You will also see a 'dancing' orange bell in the bottom right hand corner of the page or App if you have a new notification.

No, there is no connection to your LinkedIn profile although this may be a future enhancement depending on member feedback
