Lisa Dickson (Chair)

Dip OHS, CertProfNZISM, GradDipBus(HRM), GradDipBus(Comms)

Lisa has been working in the health, safety, quality and wellbeing field for over 15 years. Working on the South Island's West Coast and in Hanmer Springs, she has experience supporting safe work for a range of industries including mining, tunnelling, rock stabilisation, civil construction, track construction, 3-Waters and environmental management. In 2013, she developed a safety leadership training programme that went on to win the New Zealand Workplace Health and Safety Award for the ‘Best health and safety initiative by a small business’.

Lisa has a range of qualifications that support her health and safety practice, including post-graduate diplomas in Health and Safety, Communication Management and Human Resource Management. She is a NZISM Certified Professional and member of HRNZ.

Keri Devine

CertProfNZISM, BSC (Hons), IDIPNEBOSH, CMIOSH

Keri is a health, safety and environmental professional with over 20 years’ experience. She has worked across a variety of industries, including education, warehousing and transport, the petroleum industry, outdoor activities, and health. She has experience in advisory and management roles across the public and private sector and is currently an independent H&S consultant.

Keri has a range of qualifications including BSc (Hons) in geology, NEBOSH international diploma and ISO45001 lead auditor and is a chartered member of IOSH (CMIOSH) and a Certified Professional member of NZISM (CertProfNZISM). Keri is also an International Register of Certified Auditors (IRCA) registered ISO45001 auditor.

Sharon Lai

MSc OSHM, Malaysia, BSc (Hons) Construction Management, ProfNZISM

With over 15 years of extensive experience in Malaysia, Cambodia and NZ, Sharon has been involved in cultivating safety cultures within dynamic environments, holding various roles in the HSE sector. Sharon’s primary focus lies in HSE management, particularly within the construction industry. Her expertise encompasses leading, implementing, and maintaining ISO 45001,

ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 certifications, alongside adept management of site operational safety.

Sharon has a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management and a Master of Science in Occupational Health and Safety Management.

Adam Lynch

LLB (Hons), PGDip (Disaster Risk Management & Recovery), MBCI, ProfNZISM

Adam is a Risk, Safety and Emergency Management Consultant, with over 20 years experience in operations and logistics management roles in both the UK and New Zealand. These roles included leading safety initiatives at some of New Zealand’s leading entertainment venues and tourism attractions, before moving into a risk & safety focused consulting role, supporting clients develop and improve their own safety management systems.

He now works with clients in both NZ and Australia, working across a diverse portfolio including events, entertainment venues, tourism, education, commercial property and agriculture. Adam holds a number of governance and director roles, and also works with governance groups to ensure they are meeting their due diligence obligations.

Beryl Oldham

MBS (Hons), CRP, LFNZATD, CFHRINZ, FLPI, MNZIM

Beryl has three decades’ experience in organisational learning and development. Before moving into L&D consulting in 2013, she held senior generalist HR, organisational development and learning, and development roles in a range of governmental, non-governmental, local body and corporate organisations.

During this time Beryl's experience spanned workforce planning, developing and implementing technical/professional and leadership/management competency frameworks, performance management systems design and implementation, learning design, training systems management and evaluation, and measuring return on investment for human resources, training and other organisational initiatives. She has her own business, Complete Learning Solutions, and is a Certified ROI Professional®, holds AQF certificates in Training Systems Management and Training Evaluation, as well as the NZQA Certificate in Adult Education and Training (Level Five).

Imran Shahbaz

MSc S.H.E UK, IDipNEBOSH, CMIOSH, CertProfNZISM

Imran Shahbaz is a Chartered Safety and Health practitioner/professional with enriched experience in the HSE section in different roles. The core expertise of HSE management and practice gained over two decades from industries like Construction, Oil and Gas, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Port container terminal logistics. Imran has served organisations in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Pakistan and New Zealand during this period.

In addition to his scientific and technical academic background in HSE, he has acquired a master’s degree in Safety, Health, and Environment and a Bachelor's Hons in Occupational Safety, Health, and the Environment. He has completed the Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Health and Safety Leadership and Management, NEBOSH International Diploma in OHS, NVQ Level 5 Diploma in OHSP, NEBOSH International General Certificate in OHS, NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Process Safety Management, ISO Lead Auditor 9001, ISO Lead Auditor 14001, ISO Lead Auditor 45001.

Imran is a proud chartered member of IOSH (CMIOSH) and a Certified Professional member of NZISM (CertProfNZISM), an approved tutor for the NEBOSH Diploma and certificate level qualification. I am also an approved tutor for the British Safety Council Diploma and certificate level qualification, HABC UK qualifications. I am holding approval as a tutor for IOSH qualifications, approved assessor for ProQual Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Health and Safety Leadership and Management, NVQ Level 6 Diploma in OHSP, and NVQ Level 3 Certificate in OHSP.

Dick Thornton-Grimes

CertProfNZISM, COHSProf, GradDipOSH, MPhil

Dick is a certified OSH professional both in New Zealand (NZISM) and in Australia (AIHS). As a health and safety professional for over 27 years, Dick has local and international experience in chemical and high-hazard environments. Dick was the National Advisor for Hazardous Substances in the New Zealand Fire Service with responsibility for hazmat advice at incidents, strategic management of hazmat-related issues and liaison with industry and government departments on this topic.

Dick’s health and safety qualifications are from Massey University and include a Master of Philosophy and a Graduate Diploma of OSH. Dick’s multifaceted work experience includes tertiary education, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, food safety, construction projects, light rail, dangerous goods transport, bulk transport and storage, and utility distribution networks

Olivia Welsh

LLM(Hons), BA(Hons), LLB

Olivia specialises in commercial, civil and regulatory litigation with a particular focus on workplace health and safety matters.

She has broad experience in providing health and safety legal compliance advice to businesses and regularly advises clients on ways to address health and safety risks both internally and in relationships with contractors, suppliers, and others. Olivia also assists clients in responding to workplace incidents, including providing guidance and representation during investigations and prosecutions by WorkSafe New Zealand, and coronial inquests.

In addition to her specialist health and safety experience, Olivia has acted on a wide range of civil and commercial litigation matters, including insurance litigation, product liability, estate litigation, breach of contract, negligence cases, and construction disputes.
