This large-scale New Zealand business operates in a complex aviation/infrastructure environment with a significant capital works programme, multiple contractors and specialist delivery partners. About the role

This fixed term role partners with project teams to embed health, safety and wellbeing through to project completion. You will work across contractors, operations teams, engineers and public interfaces, providing practical site support, guiding stakeholders and contributing to assurance activity. With a strong understanding of machine safety risk assessment, manual handling and engineering controls, you will help manage risk effectively and contribute to wider central HSW initiatives.

Duties

  • Support project teams across construction and commissioning
  • Review SWMS, JSAs, methodologies and controls
  • Coach contractors and influence safer work practices
  • Deliver audits, site checks and performance reviews
  • Report on risk, trends and HSW performance

Skills and experience

  • Relevant HSW qualifications, with strong expertise in machine safety and manufacturing
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical risk
  • Expert in lockout/tagout and contractor isolations
  • Manufacturing, automated systems, baggage handling system experience would be highly regarded
  • Strong communication and influencing capability
