Online: 2-part series - Closing the Gap: Understanding Work as Done

This is a 2-part online workshop, your ticket covers both sessions: 9th & 11th of December.

One of the most significant challenges in making health and safety effective is ensuring that organisations are tackling real issues and building capability around Work as Done - rather than chasing illusory issues and risks arising from Work as Imagined.

It's common for there to be a significant gap between the Work as Done on the floor and Work as Imagined by safety and senior leaders. As the decision in Maritime New Zealand v Gibson [2024] NZDC 27975 [25 November 2024] illustrates, this gap can have tragic consequences.

NZISM is proud to present an interactive half-day workshop with Safety II specialist and author, Brent Sutton, to explore Work as Done vs Work as Imagined and to provide safety practitioners with practical opportunities to learn from everyday work.

Participants will better understand new approaches to working with workers and Health & Safety Representatives to improve worker engagement and form a realistic picture of Work as Done.

Through this workshop, participants will develop more effective strategies for addressing critical and psychosocial risks, and gain insights that support officers in discharging their due diligence obligations.

This is one that you won't want to miss!
