Rebecca Macfie is a journalist based in Ōtautahi Christchurch. She has written about death, injury and illness caused by work since the 1990s, and is the author of Tragedy at Pike River Mine: How and why 29 men died (2013), Helen Kelly: Her Life (2021), and Hardship and Hope: Stories of Resistance in the Fight Against Poverty in Aotearoa.
