This session is designed for safety professionals at any stage of their governance journey – whether you’re new to the profession and curious about governance, well-established and considering board pathways, or already in governance and aiming to step into larger, more complex organisations.
Sarah Dean will take us through what decision-makers look for in aspiring directors and how to position yourself with credibility, including the practical steps and skills to build once you commit to a governance pathway, and the key elements of a strong governance CV.
We’ll explore what’s different (and what’s required) if you want to progress through an executive channel versus a non-executive director pathway, and how safety professionals can translate their experience into broader leadership credibility and boardroom value.
Expect a tactile CV-focused session rather than a lecture: bring a copy of your CV and be ready to pressure-test how it reads through a governance lens.
