Newmarket: Soft Skills vs Hard Skills – What Really Matters?

Exploring the skills that shape effective Health and Safety practice.

Join us for an interactive and thought‑provoking conversation about skills—and why different types of skills matter in different ways.

In the Health and Safety industry, are we placing more emphasis on hard skills, soft skills, or the right balance of both? How do these skills show up in our day‑to‑day roles, and how can we continue to grow and adapt as professionals?

This session features Renee Anderson, Talent Acquisition Specialist, who brings practical insight from working closely with both business leaders and candidates across the sector. Renee will guide a dynamic discussion exploring:

  • What are hard skills and soft skills?
  • When and why do we prioritise one over the other?
  • How can we build and strengthen both skill sets?
  • How do we effectively demonstrate soft skills?
  • How can we assess and reflect on our own skills?

Come along, be curious, and take part in a meaningful discussion. Let’s see where the conversation takes us—and learn a thing or two together along the way.

Tea and coffee available.

Non-members welcome.
