Webinar: How Health Risk Assessments Differ from Safety Risk Assessments

Why it's important to use the right tool.

All risk assessments follow the same basic format. However, even trained and experienced occupational hygienists and safety professionals can get health risk assessment wrong when relying on professional judgement alone. It is therefore critical that, regardless of education and experience, structured and standardised tools or checklists are used to capture and assess the right information when assessing health risks.

Many of these tools are inaccessible to health and safety generalists by nature of complexity or cost.

Levi will walk you through how health risk assessment differs from safety risk assessments, including the different critical determinants of consequence and likelihood.

Using a new free online tool just launched by a NZ company (based on a mothballed tool developed by WorkSafe NZ), Levi will demonstrate how this tool can facilitate health and safety generalists to do their own preliminary health risk assessments to set priorities for controls and monitoring.
