New Minister of Workplace Relations & Safety - Iain Lees-Galloway
Iain has lived in Palmerston North for nearly 20 years and has been its Member of Parliament since 2008. Over that time Iain has seen Palmerston North become a more self-confident city with a strong identity as a multicultural urban-provincial centre with strengths in logistics, distribution, events and food innovation.
Iain wants to see the benefits of playing to those strengths shared with everyone in Palmerston North. Palmerston North needs more affordable houses, better healthcare, safer communities and Government support for businesses engaged in research and development. Manawatu and the lower North Island urgently need a replacement for the Manawatu Gorge Road and a long-term commitment to passenger rail between Palmerston North and Wellington. Palmerston North needs an experienced representative in a Labour-led Government to deliver the changes our city and region need.
Iain has built a career on advocating for others and achieving positive change. He looks forward to taking that experience into Government and helping the city where he lives with his wife and three children make the most of its strengths and opportunities.
Thank you for joining the Women in Safety Excellence (WISE) network.
We hold various online and face-to-face events throughout the year and if one occurs near you, we would love to meet you in person.
LinkedIn - Please make sure you join our LinkedIn group to stay connected and on top of our planned webinars and events. We encourage you to post anything in the WISE group page that you think other network members would find useful or inspiring. Please don't be shy. The more we reach out, the more we connect with each other, and the more we can help each other on our journeys.
We might send you the occasional email but our web page on the NZISM website is always the best place to go for an overview of what's coming up in the WISE calendar.
Best wishes,
