the latest AGM saw a change of hands for Branch Manager position. Darach Cassidy who served 2 terms (4 years) as the branch manager stood down and Deborah Cameron now takes on this role.
Deb is a Health, Safety, Environment and Risk Business Partner for C3 Limited and spends most of her time at Sulphur Point, Tauranga and at the Port of Auckland. She is also Redhawk Safety’s Director – a health and safety consultancy company . Deb promotes a transdisciplinary and adaptive approach to workplace health & safety. Deb has experience in the logistics, aviation, agri-business, manufacturing, and hospitality industries. Her steadfast passion for Workplace Health & Safety is clear! Deb holds a specialist research interest in the field of psychosocial risk management. Her work has included advising the NZ Air Line Pilots’ Association in the peer support and psychosocial risk areas, and involvement with a significant Queen’s Counsel investigation stemming from a serious workplace incident. Deb recently completed a ‘Master of Workplace Health & Safety with Distinction’, from the University of Newcastle, in Australia. The Masters study allowed her to delve into the latest psychosocial risk research. Deb is currently a HASANZ Health & Safety Registered Practitioner, a graded NZISM Graduate Member, and Branch Manager for the NZISM Bay of Plenty branch.
I think we can all agree we are in safe hands and we wish Deb the best of luck!
We would like to thank Darach for all his hard work over recent years and he has certainly left the Branch in good shape. Don't fear though Darach will remain on the committee and we look forward to his ongoing contribution and support.
