Thank you to all those members who voted in the recent Board elections. We are delighted to announce that both Grant Nicholson and Mike Cosman were re-elected and that Sharon Champness was successful as our new board member.
"Sharon brings with her a wealth of experience from both Australia and New Zealand, including being on the Board of a professional association in the higher education sector and, currently, with the ACC superannuation fund. Sharon's background in HR, including having management responsibility for health and safety functions, will be invaluable as we move further into defining and building technical competence and interpersonal effectiveness amongst our profession. Her current role is Chief Talent Officer for ACC. I think it's fair to say that ACC’s involvement in health and safety has changed considerably over the years and, with ACC soon due a new Board Chair and CEO, the opportunity to engage with them at a strategic level will be enhanced through her appointment. I'm sure you will join me in welcoming Sharon to our organisation. Sadly this wont be face-to-face for some time as the planned Board meeting to coincide with the AGM has now had to be postponed."
