About the role

As the Work Health and Safety Officer, you will ensure compliance with legislation through strong engagement and collaboration. Overseeing safety documentation, conducting risk assessments and maintaining accurate records. You will play a vital role in the safety management, ensuring all site activities meet company and regulatory standards, while promoting a proactive safety culture.

Duties

• Submit and review safety/environmental documentation

• Lead high-risk assessments with subcontractors

• Manage safety records and document control

• Provide first aid and oversee drug/alcohol testing

• Conduct site inductions and toolbox talks

• Identify and correct unsafe behaviour

• Perform workplace inspections and safety audits

• Report weekly on safety KPIs and corrective actions

Skills and experience

You will have great experience in risk management and excellent knowledge of current industry trends, best practice and legislation/regulations etc. along with:

• Strong knowledge of WHS processes

• Proficient in MS Project and other project management tools

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

• Diploma or Certificate IV in Work Health Safety

• Minimum 5 years of on-site WHS management experience
