Here at New Plymouth District Council we are on a journey to becoming the leaders in contemporary local government. To do this we need great people on board to ensure we succeed. Due to an internal promotion we are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Health, Safety and Wellness Professional to join us.
Reporting to the HSE Manager, you will facilitate operational health, safety and wellness initiatives, driving the safety culture change here at NPDC and support us to make health and wellness part of normal practice. Growing capability whilst building strong relationships and influencing change will be like second nature to you as you support the HSE Manager to implement strategy and ensure that appropriate health and wellness procedures are in place to manage risk. As well as providing key technical advice to the organisation to meet its due diligence obligations.
Ideally you will come to us with a relevant tertiary qualification and at least five years' experience in a similar role with proven ability to drive change and lead others. You will have well developed political acumen, be savvy and have the ability to communicate complex issues in a simple but persuasive manner.
