Our client is seeking a high performing Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to champion the ongoing development of HSE across operations

The role requires you:

To provide accurate and specialised support to the Safety and Wellbeing Manager and wider operational staff, assisting in the development of a safe and healthy workplace.

An engaging and influential all-round safety practitioner, with thorough knowledge of legislation, you will work as part of an experienced team in encouraging best practice during a period of change and growth.

Duties include:

* Assist Operational Managers with the implementation of OHS processes

* Regularly review all areas of the port, ensuring safe working practices

* Assist the Safety and Wellbeing Manager to update emergency procedures

* Facilitate hazard/risk assessment workshops

* Assist subsidiary companies in managing HS policy and risk as required

* Investigate non-compliance and incidents, highlighting remedial actions

* Ensure compliance with environmental requirements

Skills and experience required:

* Relevant OSH qualification

* Able to work in a complex, heavily unionised environment

* Excellent contractor management skillset

* 3-5 years practical OHS experience, preferably in a high risk environment

* Expert knowledge of New Zealand Health and Safety laws and regulations

* Knowledge of and experience with the ACC Partnership Programme

* Able to influence and engage a diverse workforce
