We are searching for an experienced Project Health, Safety and Environment Advisor to join our team for a nine-month fixed term role, overseeing all aspects of HSE for our upcoming mechanical contract in Taupo. You will report to the Project Manager with a functional report to the Group HSEQ Manager.

As the Project HSE Advisor, you are the subject matter expert in facilitating risk assessments of the project workstreams, development of project-specific documentation and regular audits and inspections of health, safety, and environmental frameworks.

What the role includes:

* Lead HSE on site

* Ensure risk assessments are completed for project requirements and HSE management plans are maintained

* Actively promote compliance to the HSE plans and embed HSE leadership practices for a proactive risk management safety culture

* Monitor and review effectiveness of critical risk controls for the project

* Oversee and monitor contractor compliance

* Conduct incident investigations, coach and mentor the project team throughout the process to deliver quality outcomes

* Provide accurate reporting on HSE Performance on a monthly basis

* Develop strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and drive a continuous improvement culture

To be successful in this role, you will have:

* Previous senior role in the construction industry

* Experience in large scale mechanical project work

* ICAM investigation certification

* Workplace drug testing Unit Standards Certification (desirable)

* Experience in Environmental management is desirable

* Highly effective written and verbal communication skills

* Attention to detail and high standards of delivery

* A minimum of 5 years experience working in the field of health, safety and environment

* A relevant HSE tertiary qualification
