Experienced and qualified Occupational, Health and Safety Officer required to lead the way in OHS for the New Zealand division of our global client.

About the role

You will be reporting to and working closely with the Senior OHS Officer, Oceania and project teams to ensure risks are managed and that the Safety Management System is reviewed and improved in line with current Health and Safety legislation.

Duties include:

• Champion OHS through strong engagement within the business

• Provide practical and fit for purpose OHS advice and guidance

• Establish and maintain systems to support the Group OHS policy/procedures and local legislation, in line with Global procedures

• Maintain records of OHS incidents and monitor completion of follow up actions

• Monitor compliance in a proactive manner

• Ensure OHS training plans are in place

• Continuous improvement – consistent with best practice

Skills and experience include:

• A number of years’ experience and proven success in a similar role

• Ability to successfully report to remote direct manager

• Mentor, motivate and educate others

• Strong ability to self-manage

• Outcome focused with strong ability to prioritise
