The Safety Advisor holds a critical role at Woodbourne ensuring that safe work practices are at the forefront of everything we do.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading the implementation and management of the information outlined in the Safety management system;
  • Responding to all incidents/accidents on base and conducting investigations;
  • Providing advice and guidance to all stakeholders and actively promoting a positive H&S culture;
  • Delivery of all classroom based H&S training to staff, including new recruits;
  • Assisting with H&S Project work at other bases and camps as required.

Please note: Parts of this role require travel to other camps and bases within NZ to assist with Project work, so you must be aware of this aspect.

What we need

Along with at least 2 years’ experience within a H&S environment, you will have exposure to the implementation, monitoring, management and delivery of health and safety outcomes. We are looking for a highly motivated person who consistently delivers exceptional service and advice to all stakeholders and actively promotes a strong Health & Safety culture. Being a confident communicator you will be able to bring people on board with ease and are comfortable presenting H&S training to larger groups.

You pro-actively build positive, trusted relationships based on integrity and your expertise in H&S related matters. You are seen as someone who is approachable, open to new ideas, knowledgeable and keen to enhance and develop H&S across the base. You enjoy a role where you are able to take ownership and work relatively autonomously, while still being an active contributor and valued member of the team.
