About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Operations, and based in Sydney, the National Safety Manager will be pivotal in ensuring regulatory and legislative safety compliance at a national level.

You will champion workplace safety by implementing strategies, frameworks, and targets to develop a strong safety culture across all levels of the business. This is a unique opportunity to influence safety outcomes and contribute to the organisation’s long-term success.

Duties include:

• Drive safety compliance across depots and satellite facilities nationwide

• Implement and audit Health and Safety systems aligned with the organisations standards

• Analyse safety data to reduce incidents and improve TRIFR and LTIFR metrics

• Develop and deliver safety inductions and training for employees and contractors

• Lead safety forums and initiatives to enhance engagement and performance

Skills and experience

We anticipate you will be a real people person, as well as having an analytical mind and be methodical and logical in approach to ensure robust systems are created and implemented.

You will also have some great success stories to share with us from a similar role and environment and will have great longevity in roles, having been working within Australia for a significant period.

You will also have:

• Tertiary qualification in Health and Safety is required

• Strong knowledge of legislative requirements

• Practical experience in high-risk environments such as freight and logistics

• Excellent risk assessment/management skills

• Proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels

• Strong analytical skills with a focus on continuous improvement

• Project management and change implementation experience is highly desirable

• Ability to travel to branches throughout Australia
