About the role
Health, Safety and Quality are currently split between several people in the business. This newly created role will combine all aspects of HSQE in a single position.
Firstflex has a strong safety record; however, they recognise that with their growth the health and safety needs of the business require more resource. They are looking to move into a digital safety environment and the first step towards that is gaining ISO14001 accreditation. Being a significant importer of plastics and metals, they are also very aware of their environmental footprint and are looking at all and anyways they can minimise this.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Deliver training and awareness of EH&S to employees
• Ensure Adherence to H&S guidelines and SOP
• Keep all records and investigate accidents and incidents
• Report to and manage the Health and Safety Committee
• Manage Quality aspects of cable testing requirements, IP and trademarks
• Facilitate green initiatives including implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001
The team are highly motivated and flexible. There will be other tasks and projects that may well fall into the remit for this role over time.
You have experience of H&S within New Zealand, have a flexible approach and positive attitude. This role is about influencing change through building relationships and understanding the staff and business objective and aligning those with best practice.
